This is a post I wrote a few years ago on my birthday weekend. It's funny how perspective and time can change how we feel. At that time I had a toddler, we had activities and playdates that filled the calendar. I was working at Starbucks part time for 'mom' time and we we had photoshoots in between. Quiet, alone time was slim.
Fast forward to the present. Things look so different. Life's pace has slowed. Dates on the calendar fly by without my noticing because let's be real it's kind of like everyday is a repeat of the last. There are pros to each way of life. I am ready for a balance of the two.
The smell of cows early in the morning. Dew droplets on the webs built last night. Corn begging to be picked. A rugged old road filled with potholes. Walking down an old country road in the smelly pasture land I ran across these amazing viewpoints. Everyday we pass by opportunities like these. This particular morning I was staying in a hotel with my family and as usual I woke up as soon as the sun peaked into our window. The morning air was brisk just as it should be in the fall but what was different was no rain! As most Oregonians know fall usually means rain and with that comes gray skies! So I snuck out of the room and down the hall for a pleasant walk.....alone! Quiet!
When was the last time you took a quiet moment doing something you love?
